Common conclusions
As the saying goes, yesterday is gone and tomorrow is uncertain. But today is a present and that's why you should live in the moment and spend every minute happily. No one knows what can happen tomorrow, so there's no point in worrying about it. Of course, you have to plan for the future in terms of finances, kids, health, and other aspects, but worrying about these aspects will take you nowhere. Hence, never think too much of the things that can happen in the future. Live in the present.
Daydreaming is never good because you tend to think about events, people, or things that happened in the past or will happen in the future. What has happened in the past is already gone and you can never go back and change it whereas the future is unknown. Also, daydreaming is mostly about negative things that can stress you out unnecessarily. So, if you start daydreaming, pick up a hobby, or do something that will need your focus.
Most pieces of news out there is negative because good things are rarely reported. There are talks of diseases, unemployment, asteroids hitting the earth, Mayan calendar about earth's destruction, natural calamities, and more. Sadly, none of this is positive and it can only increase your apprehension about the future. Instead of reading through such negative news, look for positive information, news, guidance, and anything that will make you happy.
Stay away from people who are negative because they are there only to create a sense of fear in you. Some may be the harbinger of wrong negative news while others will do nothing other than putting you down and creating fear in you, so you keep worrying all the time or remain dependent on others for emotional support. Never allow these people to take over your life.
Meditation is a powerful way to know about yourself and to relate to the world around you. It also calms you down and makes you focus on the problems and joys on hand instead of worrying about the distant future that you have no control over. Hence, make it a practice to meditate at least for a few minutes in the mornings.
It's about time you start talking to yourself, but make sure you talk about positive things. Soothe yourself that there are billions of people, so major catastrophes are impactful on everyone. Also, convince yourself that we're making rapid advances in science and technology and these are enough to circumvent a lot of problems. Such positive self-talk will eliminate your stress.
Just make sure you focus on the positive aspects, so it is meaningful for you.
